2011 Renault CAPTUR

A sporty crossover with a flowing and athletic body language, it conjures up visions of two people exploring the world and previews a forthcoming road car.
Its Energy dCi 160 twin-turbo engine-concept combines driving fun, enjoyable performance and low CO2 emissions.

At the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, Renault revealed its new brand identity which puts people at the forefront of its concerns. The new and ambitious design strategy which resulted from this is founded on different stages of the human life cycle, with each phase taking the form of a specific concept car. The first, the two-seater DeZir coupĂ©, expressed ‘falling in love’, the passion present at the beginning of any new

adventure. Now Renault CAPTUR addresses the second phase of this cycle, that of two people exploring the world around them.
Just like its predecessor, Renault CAPTUR defines the simple, sensuous and warm style that will be progressively extended to future Renault car designs

In its proportions and fluid curves, Renault CAPTUR evokes movement and lightness, yet at the same time displaying powerful and muscular all-terrain cues. Just as with DeZir, angles, corners and lines have given way to sensuous and natural forms. For the exterior designer, Julio Lozano, the main sources of inspiration were athletes and radical sports. “In designing CAPTUR, I began with the image of a sprinter on the starting

blocks, his muscles tensed, and the energy unleashed when the starting pistol is fired,” he explains. The design also references equipment such as helmets, gloves and other protective gear used in radical sports, combining high technology with sophistication and lightness.

The 2011 Toyota Yaris

Here our review about the new 2011 Toyota Yaris. There is no we can say about the highest quality vehicle models that brought by Toyota to the market for the past few decades. The production is continue for this year and for the years ahead, a lot to be done by Toyota to deliver a fresh new perspective into a long running

vehicle series. What Toyota wants to achieve this year with the 2011 Toyota Yaris is actually the same concept. The specifications of the 2010 Yaris model are available at Toyota website. The 2011 Toyota Yaris is not expected to have much differences from the 2010 model and we expect that most of the specification applicable to 2011 model. We just guess that the specifications are going to be the same

As we can see the specification, it is a 1.5 liter and 4 Cylinder engine. It makes this vehicle to produce 106-horsepower at 6000 rpm. Now let us compare it with Nissan Versa, the Nissan Versa is a 1.6 liter engine that produces 107-horsepower. Without jumping to a conclusion, there are other reasons that make Yaris a better car than the Nissan Versa, looks are one of the reasons.

Another competitor of the 2011 Toyota Yaris; Hyundai Accent has 1.6-liter engine and has 110-horsepower of muscle. Those three have the similar power range and the competition is tight at the market. Honda Fit is also the other competitor and it has 117-horsepower, it makes it as the mightiest car of these 4 cars.

We can say no. The reason is the 2010 Toyota Yaris model come with the same spec which the 2010 Toyota Yaris has. The 2011 Toyota Yaris has two-door and 4-door hatchback style and integrate 1.5-liter 4 cylinder engine. The 2010 and 2011 Toyota Yaris Sedan has the same spec. The 2011 Yaris Sedan is completed with 1.5-liter 4 cylinder engine which produces 106-horsepower engine along with 103 lb.ft. torque. The 2011 Toyota Yaris A4 has four-speed automatic transmission, and the Toyota Yaris M5 2011 version has five-speed manual transmission, the same as 2010 Yaris M5. The 2011 Toyota Yaris M5 has 1.5-liter 4 cylinder engine. All of the models have two wheel drive.

Volkswagen Amarok 2011

Hannover, December 1, 2009 – With the Amarok, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is now also entering the segment of mid-range pick-ups, representing an annual market volume of two million vehicles worldwide. The Amarok is not only the fourth model series of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand, it is also the

first 1-tonne class pick-up to be developed in Germany. The new model unifies the robustness demanded of a pick-up with innovative technology, high safety standards and top values in fuel efficiency, comfort and ergonomics. Production is about ready to begin at our “Pacheco” plant in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Amarok is launching worldwide in a four-door version with “double cab” – a “single cab” will debut in the first half of 2011. Conceptually and stylistically, the Amarok – up to 5.25 meter long – is a pick-up that looks like it came right out of the pages of a stylish copybook. Its body, set upon a ladder frame, clearly reflects properties of the new Volkswagen design DNA. As usual, the emphasis here is on horizontal lines, a clear interplay of surfaces and precision.

Unifying the horizontal headlights and grille into a single design element is a characteristic of the Volkswagen face for the new era. The louvres and decorative trim of the radiator grille are styled with a distinctive love for details. Extending back from the front face is a surface that develops over the fender contour to the side windows and encloses them in an arch. The defined curvatures of the side panels and engine bonnet lend the sculpted Amarok a truck-like stability supported by amply sized wheel housings.

Finally, the VW logo crowns the smooth surface of the tailgate, framed by rear lights whose distinctive signature is a characteristic night design. Even in the styling of the bumper and its form fit to the truck body, the high standards of its designers show through, and this sets the Amarok apart from the competitive field as a genuine Volkswagen with quality and precision.

Custom-tailored cutouts in the new rear apron provide the perfect backdrop for the four tailpipes of the Brabus sport exhaust system. The rear appearance is rounded out with a centrally mounted reflector.

The Brabus rear spoiler creates a perfect aerodynamic balance and emphasizes the sporty character of the Brabus designer suit.

The all-new S60 will be one of the strongest players in a segment where the competition is razor-sharp,” says Volvo Cars President and CEO Stephen Odell.
The coupe-inspired lines that gave the original S60 its characteristic stance are even more pronounced in the next generation.

The sporty design gives visual promise of an enthusiastic drive and I can assure you here and now that the all-new S60 will live up to that promise. The driving properties are better than in any previous Volvo. The car’s technology will help you to be a better and safer driver,” says Stephen Odell.

The concept car gives a clear indication that the Volvo Cars design team is stepping up to the next level in the development of the products’ DNA.

The modern Scandinavian design of the S60 Concept reflects the “Do Not Abandon” approach to the strengths of the brand’s design language. At the same time, it’s a Dramatic New Approach. 2011 – Pagani

Milan, 18th February 2011 – Pagani Automobili and Pirelli consolidate their technical partnership which began in 2006 with Huayra, the new supercar from the Modena manufacturers on P Zero tyres and which blends sports performance with elegance. The world preview of the 2011 vehicle, signed off by Horacio Pagani, took place today at the classic Pirelli plant at Bicocca, where the European Huayra launch tour will start. The showdown that took place in the heart of Pirelli’s Research and Development group involved

Horacio Pagani, chairman and founder of Pagani Automobili, and Francesco Gori, CEO of Pirelli Tyre.
The Huayra project began in 2003 and the achievement is the direct result of the collaboration of almost every world expert in the automotive sector, who helped create an entirely new vehicle in terms of form, dynamic, dimensions and technologies used. The Pagani experts, the Mercedes Benz-AMG motor engineers and Pirelli researchers have studied each and every detail to bring Horacio Pagani’s idea to life: an elegant, powerful car

with a focus on reducing environmental impact; a car not in contrast with the air, but rather supporting it, becoming a part of it. In this project, a key role was played by the tyres which had to guarantee progression, grip and low rolling coefficient as well as meeting particularly severe safety standards, thereby granting maximum stability to a high performance vehicle with a rear engine. To this end, the Pirelli engineers developed innovative solutions for the P Zero destined for used on the Pagani car: optimising the structure to maximise contact patch and improve lateral behaviour. The materials used are also innovative: a two-component compound that increases both grip and rolling efficiency.

The first collaboration between Pirelli and Pagani dates back to 2005, but it was in 2007 that the relationship between the two brands really strengthened, when Pagani beat the speed record on the NĂĽrburgring circuit for the first time, in partnership with Pirelli. The second and last record dates back to last summer, when the Pagani Zonda R travelled 20.83 km in just 6 minutes and 47 seconds, wearing Pirelli P Zero Slick tyres (measuring 265/645-19TL, 325/705-20TL) that had been specifically designed for Zonda R and that were derived from a combination of designs and the use of innovative Motorsport materials.
Huayra consists of more than 4000 parts, in addition to engine and gearbox, which are all assembled individually. Compared with the Zonda, Huayra’s driving position is 40mm further back and has an even more spacious driving compartment. The soft, immediate silhouette becomes sleek and streamlined, with lines that have a clear start and finish. The engine is a Mercedes-Benz AMG twinturbo with more than 700 HP and 1000 Nm torque, optimised in terms of CO2 emissions and consumption, which is integrated with the vehicle, giving the sensation that inspired Pagani research: that of an aeroplane taking off.
To strengthen and enhance the characteristics of the new Pagani, Pirelli Research developed tyres with compounds and solutions that reduce rolling resistance whilst boosting performance characteristics, both in terms of safety and driving pleasure. In addition, these tyres have a reduced environmental impact. Huayra wears the P Zero measuring 255/35ZR19 (96Y)XL P Zero and 335/30ZR20 (104Y) P Zero. The underlying technology is that already used on other P Zero sizes and now boasts almost 200 official approvals as original equipment. This means peak performance is guaranteed for such an extreme sports vehicle, without, however, affecting safety, which must always be guaranteed, both for road and track use and in the wet. Pirelli uses a new two-compound solution for the rear, which allows lateral grip to be maintained to the full, along with stability, even at very high speeds indeed, increasing driving precision and eliminating deterioration even from the front. Pirelli has also used a new production process (already used for the slicks of the Zonda R), which guarantees maximum precision in the assembly of the various tyre parts

BMW i8

The BMW i8 Concept and the fascinating approach that underpins it embody the vision of a sustainable contemporary sports car brought to life. Its innovative plug-in hybrid concept combines the modified electric drive system from the BMW i3 Concept – fitted over its front axle – with a high-performance three-cylinder

combustion engine producing 164 kW/220 hp and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) at the rear. Working in tandem, they allow the two drive systems to display their respective talents to the full, delivering the performance of a sports car but the fuel consumption of a small car.

Acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under five seconds combined with fuel consumption in the European cycle of under three litres per 100 kilometres (approx. 94 mpg imp) are figures currently beyond the capability of any vehicle powered by a combustion engine of comparable performance. Thanks to its large lithium-ion battery, which can be charged from a domestic power supply, the BMW i8 Concept can travel up to 35 kilometres (approx. 20 miles) on electric power alone. Added to which, the 2+2-seater offers enough space for four people, giving it a high level of everyday practicality.

The LifeDrive architecture of the BMW i8 Concept has been carefully adapted to enhance the vehicle’s sports car character, and therefore to deliver unbeatable performance and excellent driving dynamics. The motor in the front axle module and combustion engine at the rear are connected by an “energy tunnel”, which houses the high-voltage battery. This gives the car a low centre of gravity – and the dynamic benefits that come with it. The positioning of the electric motor and engine over their respective axles and the space-saving and well-balanced packaging of all components result in an optimum 50/50 weight distribution.

The emotional design of the BMW i8 Concept ensures its qualities are clear for all to see. Its dynamic proportions give the BMW i8 Concept the appearance of surging forward before it even turns a wheel and lend visual form to its extraordinary performance.
The sporting character continues into the interior. Boasting a driver-focused environment unmatched by any BMW Group vehicle before it, the BMW i8 Concept immerses the driver fully in the unique driving experience. The BMW i8 Concept is the sports car for a new generation – pure, emotional and sustainable.
