Fortuner New(2012)

When Toyota launched this muscular power machine in 2009, i thought it would never succeed in Indian roads because of its off road driving traits. But i was mistaken, its design and style was capable to grab anyone’s like. Within no time Toyota achieved its big success. Now, Toyota has made a noticeable facelift on Fortuner and they have announced it at the ongoing  A few days before we wrote the details of new Toyota Innova which gets a mild facelift and announced at the same event, you may also like it, is the link. It’s now been a popular trend that most of the automobile manufactures started giving a similar face to their various models. It was not the case of Toyota, with the release of new Innova and Fortuner we can

Like what Toyota has done in Innova, Fortuner also comes with a new front end. The new face looks cool, its headlamp appears sleeker than how it was, with self adjusting projector lights and headlamp washers. Like the other members of the same family the new Fortuner also has the trapezoidal design. Front fog lamps get a minor redesign which housed inside the sharper front bumper. The Swift PHEV operates like many other plug-in-hybrid vehicles. The car is propelled by a 55-kW (74 horsepower) electric motor powered by a 2.66-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, supplied by Sanyo Electric. The car can run just under 10 miles on electricity alone, but once the batteries are depleted, a small 660-cc gasoline engine comes online to function as a generator. According to Suzuki, this system is lighter and less expensive than installing a large battery pack, and allows the little Swift to achieve 88 mpg on the Japanese fuel economy testing cycle.

Later this year, Suzuki will send roughly 60 of the Swift PHEVs to its Japanese dealerships for real-world testing. Suzuki has announced its plans to ultimately sell a plug-in-hybrid vehicle, but has not given any specifics on the hybrid Swift’s future — at this point, it will be strictly a limited-production test vehicle. Osamu Suzuki, the chairman of the company, says his company plans on ultimately introducing electric vehicles in Japan, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the firm focuses on launching PHEVs in the same market.
