2012 Mercedes-Benz M-Klasse
A 2012 M-Klasse prototype hits the fast curves of the Ring
Set to make its official debut at the middle of next year, the future M-Klasse SUV from Stuttgart will likely retain its overall dimensions, even though some reports suggest a slight growth in terms of length compared to the current model. The key points of the new generation of the ML will be its attractive powertrain options. The 4MATIC traction will be enhanced by the addition of a new management system, which is able to modify the behaviour of the car by matching the type of terrain it is running on.
Under the bonnet, Mercedes-Benz has prepared a wide range of efficient and powerful units. The basis option will consist of a 2.2 litres diesel engine;furthermore, a new V6 petrol engine is also expected, boasting an output of 333 BHP. The new M-Klasse will also be offered in hybrid configuration-a 306 BHP V6 + an electric motor capable of achieving 80 BHP. The top-of-the-range models will be represented by the ML 500, powered by the new 435 BHP V8 unit, and the mighty ML 55 AMG, sporting the new 5.5 litres twin-turbo V8, which is expected to offer around 570 BHP.
